Bankers to meet

African bankers will meet in Johannesburg, South Africa, next week for the first pan-African conference on the banking and finance sector, reports said on Tuesday. The conference, organised by ‘Business in Africa’ magazine, will focus on new developments and the effects of new technology on the industry. It will also consider the performance of the industry during the past decade and evaluate problems and prospects in the sector. Speakers expected to address the gathering include South Africa’s Finance Minister Trevor Manuel and finance ministers from other African countries, the reports added.
