UN details Tribunal registrar post

The UN on Wednesday corrected a prior press statement, carried by IRIN on Tuesday, that the ICTR would have a Deputy Prosecutor position come available at the end of May. Warren Sach, a programme planning and budget director with the UN, had informed the 'Fifth Committee' (Administrative and Budgetary) that a Deputy Registrar position would then become aavailable, the correction stated. Sach's statements were made in the context of concerns by committee members at the growing costs of defence counsels at the ICTR, and that the Tribunal had been "hampered by problems with finance and procurement functions."
